I've been working extra shifts which have been mostly nights so sleeping has taken priority over quilting for the last few weeks. I did manage to get a couple more quilts finished.
The first one was made from QAYG squares donated by one of the ladies from Kyabram and will be ideal for a male.
The second one was a set of blocks which someone had made to practice their hand quilting. I put them together using the QAYG method too and will make a lovely lap quilt to donate.
I'm off to work again today but hope to get some more quilts finished soon. I've also been asked for another 35 quilts for a camp for abused kids so I'm starting on those as soon as I have time. Luckily I have had some tops for kids donated by Lesley and her friends from Kyabram so just need to find time for the quilting.
Hope you're all having some quilting fun.
Hugs, Jan Mac

Wow Jan I just read the total quilts donated. You do an amazing job...
ReplyDeleteJan, how big do the 35 quilts have to be - kids as in little kids, or teenagers that need adult sized quilts? I can get started on some as soon as you confirm a size.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I spoke to Janis and she is arranging for my bag of bags to be picked up. She was pleased to hear I had so many as she said there will always be a need for them.
beautiful work as usual Jan you are amazing xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for checking out the new quilts.
ReplyDeleteGina, the quilts for kids I make at a minimum of 40" x 60" so the kids can grow into them. I make them 50" x 70" for the older kids. Most charities get cot sized quilts if they receive any so I always send them larger ones for the teens as well as the older kids.
Hope this helps,
Hugs, Jan
Thanks for that info Jan - I'll get to work this week ;-)
