Time To Go

I fly off to the US early tomorrow morning so I will be posting on my other blog about my travels and not much here until I return and start giving my donation quilts away again.
I sent off 180 quilts last week and they will be going to East Timor and Pakistan where they have had severe floods.
I also sent off many knitted beanies, scarves and baby clothes and I am also taking some pillowcases, baby clothes and hats to post off to Pine Ridge Reservation while I'm in the US.
In the meantime I thought I'd share a photo from
our recent trip to Western Australia. Just a reminder not to let your sewing machines sit too long without being oiled and used. I'll have withdrawals from mine while I'm away and have taken my knitting and hand sewing to keep me busy if I have any spare time.
Take care everyone.

Quilt Tops Finished

I've managed to quilt more donated tops and they have been donated to Timor and Pakistan.
I'll be taking a break while I'm traveling next month and in the meantime I'm knitting beanies for Pine Ridge Reservation. I'll post them while I'm in the US which will save me a lot on postage.
Still have more things to get done before I leave but at least the numerous boxes of quilts and blankets have left the house.

Finally Quilt Photos

I've had a busy week with finishing off donated tops and have finally finished all the bindings and had photos taken. I still have 3 more that I finished today and will take photos later.
The last quilt here shows a lovely donated pieced back which gave me a lot of extra time to finish quilts instead of making backs.
Of course a week wouldn't be complete without at least 1 QAYG quilt being finished and I still have a small pile of QAYG blocks to work with before I need to make some more. Now I need to get some dress making done befpore my trip to the US in 3 weeks time but I'll try to finish off a quilt or 3 as well.

Mail Call

I've been in Sth Australia for the last couple of weeks on a camping trip with friends. We arrived home to a pile of mail and a wonderful box from Mary Bargery in NSW. She sent this fabulous quilt top and matching backing, 24 QAYG blocks and 24 crocheted squares for the blankets I make for Timor.
It was a lovely surprise and will be made into finished quilts ASAP and sent on their way to warm and bring comfort to someone.
We've finished and donated lots of quilts this year thanks to all your very generous donations.
More soon.
Hugs Jan Mac
