QAYG Quilts Again

I have had a few family distractions this week and so far have only managed to finish off two more QAYG quilts.
They were made from a mixture of donated blocks and will bring comfort and warmth to a needy person.
I also received a donation of more quilt tops so I plan to spend some time quilting and finishing them into quilts to donate.
Thank you all for your ongoing support of these quilt appeals.
Hugs, Jan Mac

  1. I had to smile when I clicked on that first quilt to make it bigger. One of the blocks sort of jumped out at me... and I thought... hey, I recognize that block as one that I sent you. Four rows down from the top and in the second column is one of the blocks that I sent off to you. Somehow it must have gotten mixed in with other donated blocks. Well, at least, now I know that I haven't forgotten how to count... I did send off 35 blocks after all... lol. And it all worked out as the block you added to the other quilt blended well with the blocks I sent.

  2. When I don't have enough blocks to make a full set of 24 or 35 I often mix them up. It also helps me to sew them if I have a difference in the type of batting used to make them. I alternate the thick and thin batting so i don;t break sewing needles. I use all of the blocks even if there's only 2 or 3 from each person they will still look good when the joining strips are added. Thanks for all your help with these quilts.
